Exercise is the Key to Mindset during COVID-19

COVID-19 | Fitness Tips | Indoor Fitness

In today’s COVID-19 world, I meet with clients virtually. Many of my long-time clients tell me I’ve become their lifeline to the outside world—a constant source of strength and positivity during uncertain times. It’s both humbling and gratifying to know that movement and connection, even through a screen, can have such a profound impact.

Why You Need Exercise Now More Than Ever

It’s easy to let go of your exercise routine when life is disrupted. But in times of uncertainty, exercise becomes more essential, not less. Movement doesn’t just strengthen your body—it supports your mental well-being.

Exercise releases endorphins that bind to receptors in your brain, helping reduce the perception of pain and boosting your overall mood. The result? A clearer mind, improved outlook, and greater emotional resilience.

The Real Risk of Inactivity

My virtual clients are continuing their workouts to maintain strength, joint mobility, and balance. Why does this matter? Because even a 2–3 month break in activity can increase your risk of injury by up to 80%. During a health crisis, the last place you want to end up is in the emergency room.

Adapting and Thriving—Together

To support my clients through this transition, I now offer:

  • Daily guided workout videos

  • One-on-one technique sessions via video

  • Customized, biomechanically-balanced routines using limited equipment

You’ll be amazed at how effective your workouts can be with just a resistance band, a chair, or a set of light weights. With creativity and intention, you can stay strong and balanced—even in isolation.
