SHOULDER PAIN TREATMENT • PACIFIC GROVE, CA
Your shoulder isn't aging. It's unstable.
Shoulder pain is almost never just about time passing. It's a loss of stability, a movement pattern gone sideways, and both are correctable. I treat the joint, and the reason it stopped moving well.
Why your shoulder hurts
(it's probably not what you think)
THE ROOT CAUSE
Rounded posture from desks, phones, and driving, pulling the shoulder out of its ideal position.
Compensation patterns from an old injury that never fully resolved.
Poor scapular stability, where the shoulder blade isn't supporting the joint the way it should.
Weakness in the rotator cuff and surrounding stabilizers, not just tightness.
Repetitive strain from work, sport, or daily habits that overload one part of the joint.
"The pain is a symptom. The root cause is almost always a stability and movement issue, not an unavoidable part of getting older."
Two directions, one shoulder
THE METHOD
Bodywork
Hands-on release of the restrictions in the muscles and connective tissue pulling your shoulder out of alignment, whether that's the chest, upper back, neck, or the rotator cuff itself.
Movement & Stability Training
Rebuilding the strength and control your shoulder needs to hold a healthy position once it's no longer locked up. This is the step most treatment plans skip, and usually why the pain returns.

Frequently asked
QUESTIONS
-
No. While shoulder pain becomes more common as people get older, the underlying cause is almost always a loss of stability or a movement compensation pattern, both of which can be corrected at any age.
-
A referral isn't required, though I'm happy to coordinate with your physician or physical therapist if you're already working with one.
-
This depends on how long you've had the pain and what's driving it. Many clients notice a difference within the first few sessions, with a full plan typically spanning several weeks to rebuild lasting stability.
-
Yes. Both respond well to a combined approach of targeted bodywork and progressive movement training.
