Body Fat Analysis
See what is really changing in your body.
The scale tells you one number. The InBody 270 shows you what that number is made of.
BOOK NOWWhat you will learn
Body fat
How much of your weight is fat, and what percentage that is.
Skeletal muscle mass
The muscle that moves you and keeps you strong.
Water weight
Total body water, so you can tell fluid shifts from real change.
Muscle balance
How muscle is distributed across your arms, legs, and trunk, and whether one side is lagging.
Metabolic rate
Your basal metabolic rate, the calories your body uses at rest.
Your trend
Each visit adds to your history, so you can see change over time instead of guessing.
More useful than a scale
Two people can weigh the same and look completely different. A scale also cannot tell you whether you lost fat or muscle. If you are strength training, recovering from an injury, or getting older, that difference matters.
Holding on to muscle matters more with every decade.
How it works
Step on and hold the handles
You stand on the machine barefoot and grip two handles.
Wait for the reading
The test is quick and painless. A small, safe electrical signal passes through your body.
Get your printout
We go over every section together, so you know what each number means.
How to prepare
Your results are only as comparable as your conditions.
- Come at about the same time of day each visit.
- Stay well hydrated.
- Skip hard exercise and a large meal right before your test.
- Wear light clothing.
Who it is for
Anyone who wants more than the scale.
- People starting or restarting strength training
- Anyone tracking progress beyond body weight
- Clients working through an injury who want to keep muscle while they heal
- Anyone watching muscle mass as they age
Pairs well with the Half & Half
Once you know where your muscle is lagging, we can build your training around it. Many clients add a Half & Half session to turn the numbers into a plan.
Common questions
How long does it take?
About 15 minutes. That covers a short consultation, the scan itself, and a walkthrough of your printout.
How often should I test?
Every 4 to 6 weeks works well for most people. Testing more often than that mostly shows daily fluctuations.
Do I need to fast?
No, but consistency matters. Try to test under similar conditions each time.
Will you explain my results?
Yes. Every test includes a walkthrough of your printout.
Who should not use it?
The InBody 270 is not suitable for anyone with a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device. Tell us if that applies to you. This is a wellness and tracking tool and does not diagnose any condition.
